The Kansas Department of Agriculture cited these restaurants for six or more critical health code violations.

Most critical violations are corrected at the time of the inspection.

•Edokko Japanese Restaurant, 8615 Hauser St., Lenexa, had 14 critical violations in a follow-up inspection on Aug. 16.

They included cooked chicken skewers, cooked pork and cooked chicken pieces held at improper temperatures on the buffet.

There was no comment from the restaurant.

•Elsa’s Ethiopian Restaurant, 8016 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, had seven critical violations in an Aug. 10 inspection.

They included cooked beef with onions, cooked chicken, and cooked lentils and onion held at improper temperatures, and insect spray in the kitchen.

“We got those violations as a new business, and we are always trying to improve,” said Hiwot Michaels, a restaurant family member.
